Presentation Summary:

Hear about the best practices to measure code quality for Java/JEE applications and factors contributing to it. The discussion will be focused around the usage of design Patterns, engineering practices like build automation, PMD, cyclomatic complexity, Unit testing & dependencies.

Speakers:

Shiv Vithal is Director of information technology for Waste Management Inc and is responsible for leading company’s product development for customer facing and operational functions. Prior to joining Waste Management, Shiv was the Director of Technology for nations leading financial services firm, Quicken Loans, developing their core business operations in all 50 states. Shiv has also worked on leading organizations through merger and acquisition activities related to IT due diligence and post-acquisition technology integration. Shiv is a business-focused leader with deep expertise in driving organizational change and aligning technology with business strategy. 

Shiv received his bachelor of engineering degree from India. Shiv also holds a MBA from Ross School of Business in Corporate Strategy and a Masters in Information systems from Eastern Michigan University. He also holds Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification since 2003.

Prasad Tangirala is a Senior Manager at Waste Management heading up the Ebusiness development teams. He has managed the build out several applications for large user bases in a variety of industries, most recently at Amazon.com. He has over 15+ years of development management experience using various methodologies.

Arun Sakthi is working as a Senior Developer in Waste Management. He has architected and developed various Java/ JEE solutions in different domains (i.e. Insurance, Banking, eCommerce). He has over 8 years of engineering experience with different companies in India and United States. He also has practiced agile methodologies with lot of project teams for past 3 years and a certified scrum master.
